Allergy Face Masks

THE PROBLEM: ALLERGY SUFFERING

Man sneezing and suffering from allergies

For millions of Americans, the coming of Springtime is a joyous and uplifting season while for others, it is the start of suffering and constant unpleasant sneezing, coughing, running nose and sore throat.  This is the peak in allergy season and millions of Americans will suffer this fate as millions and billions of tiny spores enter the air we breath.  It can be a very hard and unpleasant time but there are solutions and with today's innovations in oral filtration devices, the Springtime allergy season can be a happy time for even the worst of allergy sufferers.

The main culprit in triggering these allergies are trees and foliage that produce tiny pollen cells that are light and dry and are carried everywhere by cool spring breezes.  Is there anything that can be done to help alleviate the suffering?

Yes there is!

THE SOLUTION: ORAL FILTRATION MASKS - MEDICAL MASKS - N95 / KN95 RESPIRATORS

The answer is oral filtration devices also know as respirators, medical masks, surgical masks or disposable face masks.  Each one has a different cost, use, application and design so picking one that works best for you is the important thing.  You may have to try a few to get a good idea which one is the best.  We have a great resource describing many of the masks available SHOW ME ALLERGY MASKS.

The various types of masks work to remove or "filter out" the pollen cells and spores that can be extremely small and carried by insects, birds and the wind everywhere.  Pollen is very efficient at getting spread everywhere very quickly.  The good news is that some of the very best respirators and the N95 or KN95 medical masks filter out the majority of these spore cells.

These oral filter masks have a filter rating of PM2.5 meaning that they will remove particulate matter as small as 25 micrometers and bigger which is the majority of pollen and spores that are released into the air.  There are 2 types of PM2.5 respirators:

    • N95 or KN95 Medical Masks
    • Sewn 2-Ply Cotton or Scuba Fabric Masks with Rear Pocket

STOP THE PAIN:  RESPIRATORS AND ORAL AIR FILTRATION

To alleviate your allergy symptoms we need to filter out the things that are causing them in the first place.  The majority of remedies deal with trying to suppress the allergy reactions once the pollen has gotten into your system but wouldn't be better to stop the pollen from even entering your body as opposed to taking medication after medication to suppress the histamine explosion in your body.  That is what one of the many available respirators and oral filtration masks will do.  By preventing them from entering your body, we prevent the pollen from entering and hence, no histamine that causes your suffering.

The question becomes which filtration mask is best for you?  Trial and error is probably going to be your best course of action however, we find having a mix of masks for varying levels of protection maybe the best approach.  There are also disposable ones and reusable masks in various fabrics, construction types and design.
